He has shaken the very foundations of the DMK and AIADMK—the two parties that have dominated the state's political landscape for the past six decades. Prior to the assembly elections, no one imagined that Vijay—through the Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), a party barely two years old—would be able to challenge the established power structure in Tamil Nadu.
