New Delhi: The first Mangala Gauri fast of the month of Sawan will be observed today. This fast is observed each Tuesday of Sawan and Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva is worshipped. Married women particularly fast this day for their husbands' long life, happiness, prosperity and happy married life. What is the Mangala Gauri fast puja time?

The time for puja today is between 4:20 am and 5:02 am. The general puja timings are from 9:06 am to 2:08 pm and Abhijit Muhurta is from 12:00 pm to 12:54 pm. Puja can be done on this time period.

Is Bhadra combined with Panchak?

Today on Mangala Gauri fast, Bhadra and Panchak will be combined. As per the astrological prediction, Bhadra is about to commence tonight at 10:03 pm and will run till 5:45 am tomorrow. Chor Panchak will last from 5:44 am to 9:54 pm.

What is the method of worship?

The method of worship in Mangala Gauri fast is the same as that of Gokulam - Gauri fast.

• To observe fast, get up in the Brahma Muhurta in the morning, take a bath and put on clean clothes.
• Then, clean the temple or place of worship.
• Place a red cloth on platform and set in Kalash and mango leaves, coconut.
• After this, install Goddess Gauri and offer her turmeric, kumkum, bangles, bindi, clothes and wedding items.
• After that, take a vow to fast and light a ghee lamp.
• Then listen to the fast story of Maa Gauri and then do aarti of Maa Parvati.
• After the puja, offer 16 types of items to the Mother Goddess.
