New Delhi: The month of Saavan is considered the most sacred for the worship of Lord Shiva. This year Sawan will start from 30th July and will continue till 28th August 2026. It is believed that by worshipping Bholenath with devotion and rituals, doing Jalabhishek and keeping fast during this entire month, the troubles of life go away and the wishes are fulfilled. The special thing is that this time all four Mondays of Sawan are falling with some auspicious yoga or special festival, due to which their importance has increased further.

When will the four Mondays of Sawan 2026 fall?

  • This year the first Sawan will fall on Monday 3rd August. On this day there will be an auspicious combination of Sukarma Yoga and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga.
  • The second Sawan will be on Monday 10th August. A rare coincidence of Som Pradosh fast is taking place on this day.
  • The third Sawan will fall on Monday, August 17 and the holy festival of Nag Panchami will also be celebrated on the same day.
  • The last and fourth Monday of Sawan will fall on Monday, 24th August. On this day also, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is being formed, which is considered very auspicious for worship and auspicious works.

Which remedy is considered auspicious to do on the first Monday of Sawan?

If there is a shortage of money, debt is burdening you or money-related problems are not leaving you, then doing Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva on the first Monday of Sawan is considered very fruitful. Take clean water in a copper or silver pot. Add some raw milk and black sesame seeds to it. Then offer this water to Shivling with all your heart. It is believed that by doing this, the financial condition of the house becomes stronger and the obstacles related to money start getting removed. Which remedy is considered beneficial on the second Monday of Sawan?

If there is a continuous delay in marriage or there is a desire to have a desired life partner, then the second Sawan Monday is said to have special significance. On this day, take 108 whole leaves and write 'Om' or 'Ram' on each leaf with yellow sandalwood and offer it to Shivling while chanting the mantra 'Om Namah Shivay'. According to religious beliefs, this remedy is done in the spirit of removing obstacles related to marital life.

What should be done on the third Monday of Sawan?

The third Sawan Monday is falling with Nag Panchami. On this day, wishes for health and mental peace are made along with the worship of Lord Shiva. First of all, offer pure water on Shivalinga. After this offer Shami leaves Durva. After the puja, sitting with a calm mind and chanting Mahamrityunjaya Mantra 108 times is considered auspicious.

Why is the worship of the fourth Monday of Sawan considered special?

Joint worship of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati on the last Monday of Sawan is said to have special significance. On this day, Abhishekam of Shivalinga is done with sugarcane juice or milk mixed with saffron. After this, red chunari and wedding makeup are offered to Goddess Parvati. There is a religious belief that this worship is done to wish for happiness, love and harmony in married life.

During the entire month of Sawan, puja should be done with full devotion, cleanliness and rules. Offering water, milk, belpatra, dhatura and ashes on Shivalinga is considered auspicious.
