New Delhi: If you've been waiting for Renault's new Duster, there's good news for you. Renault has opened bookings for its new Duster Hybrid (Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160) today, October 9, 2026. You can book this car for ₹21,000 by visiting the company's website or your nearest Renault showroom. The official price and full details of the car will be revealed on October 17. Let's explore the potential details of the upcoming Duster Hybrid in detail.

Company announces its mileage

With the commencement of bookings, the company has also announced its mileage. Let us tell you that according to ARAI, this hybrid car will run a total of 29 kilometers in 1 liter of petrol. This means that this hybrid Duster has gone far ahead of its old model and other cars in terms of mileage. In comparison, the 1.0-liter model of Duster gives a mileage of 19.4kmpl and the 1.3-liter turbo model gives a mileage of 17.7kmpl. This means that this new hybrid model will give about 50 to 64 percent more mileage.

Better mileage than other vehicles

If you look at other vehicles in the market, the Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid and Toyota Hyrider Hybrid have a mileage of 27.97 kmpl. This means the new Duster delivers 1 km more mileage than these. However, actual mileage in daily driving will depend on your driving style and road traffic. Overall, it can be said that the hybrid version of the new Renault Duster will not disappoint customers in terms of mileage.

The car's powertrain is powerful

Powertrain options include a 1.8-liter petrol engine, paired with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery. This system produces 160bhp. It's equipped with an automatic gearbox that automatically determines when the car will run on battery power and when on petrol. Best of all, there's no need to charge it separately. It automatically charges when you drive or brake.

What does the company expect?

In India, the Duster was previously known for its diesel engine. However, fewer companies are producing diesel vehicles. Therefore, Renault is positioning this hybrid car as a strong alternative to diesel. Francisco Hidalgo, a senior Renault India official, says that this car will deliver 160bhp of power and 29kmpl of mileage, all without the worry of charging. The company hopes that the introduction of this new model will once again boost Duster sales.

The curtain will be lifted from the price on this day

The current Duster in the Indian market is priced between ₹10.49 lakh and ₹18.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the hybrid model will be known only at launch on October 17th. This is the first hybrid car to arrive in India under Renault's new plan. So, if you're looking for a vehicle that's both fuel-efficient and powerful, this new option could be useful.
