New Delhi: Citroen India has launched a new special edition of its coupe SUV in the Indian market. The Basalt X Comfort Edition starts at Rs 8.75 lakh ex-showroom. The company has focused this variant on comfort, cabin upgrades and personalisation rather than any changes to the exterior design. Citroen had previously taken the same approach with the Aircross Comfort Edition and is now bringing that formula to the Basalt.

What is new inside the cabin?

The exterior of the Basalt X Comfort Edition looks largely the same as the standard model. The real changes are inside. The car now gets Metropolitan Beige leatherette seats as standard. These seats give the cabin a noticeably richer and more premium feel compared to the regular version. For a car at this price point the interior upgrade makes a genuine difference to how the car feels from the moment you sit in it.

What are the comfort AXS packs?

Citroen is giving buyers the freedom to customise their car through specially designed Comfort AXS packs. Customers can pick and choose technology and styling features based on their needs and lifestyle. These packs allow buyers to add safety and entertainment features to the car according to their preference. It gives the ownership experience a personal touch that the standard model does not offer.

What features does it come with?

The Basalt X Comfort Edition is loaded with features for its price. It gets a JBL premium audio system, front and cabin dashcams, predictive safety alerts, reverse parking camera, wireless charger and a 10-inch Android touchscreen infotainment system. These features make daily driving easier, especially in heavy city traffic where parking sensors and dashcams come in particularly handy.

Who is this car for?

Stellantis India Business Head and Director of Automotive Brands Kumar Priyesh said the success of the Aircross Comfort Edition prompted the company to bring the same approach to the Basalt. He said this new edition is aimed at buyers who want a premium and comfortable ownership experience without spending a lot of money. The combination of factory-fitted premium interiors and customisable packs makes it an attractive option for those who want more features on a tighter budget.
