Hero MotoCorp has launched its new Xoom 160 scooter in India, marking its entry into the maxi-style scooter segment. First shown at the Bharat Mobility Show earlier this year, the Xoom 160 drew attention for its bold design and strong performance promises. Priced at about ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the scooter is built for both daily commuting and adventure riding, and will compete with rivals like the TVS Ntorq 150.
The Xoom 160 is powered by a 156cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 14.69 bhp of power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. This setup promises fast acceleration and better mileage. It also features Hero’s i3S silent-start system and 4-valve technology. The liquid-cooling technology makes it superior to scooters that use air-cooled engines.
The Xoom 160 is not behind in terms of features either. It comes with a smart key system, remote seat access, dual-chamber LED headlamp, front disc brake with ABS, and a Bluetooth-connected digital console that also offers turn-by-turn navigation. Because of these features, it is being considered the most feature-loaded scooter in its segment.
