Royal Enfield Classic 350 Gorkha Edition to Launch on August 18, Spy Images Reveal Military-Inspired Look

New Delhi: The company is soon going to introduce a new special edition for the fans of Royal Enfield Classic 350. Classic 350 Gorkha Edition is set to be launched in India on 18 August 2026. Before the launch, spy pictures of the bike have been revealed, in which its new military inspired look is visible. There have also been reports of initial units reaching dealership yards. However, the company has not yet disclosed its price and all the official information.

Will Gorkha Edition get new military green color?

In the spy pictures, the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition is seen in dark military green/olive green shade. This color can become the biggest identity of this special edition. According to reports, this shade is inspired by the identity of the Gorkha Regiment. The company has not yet made public the official name of this color. Special graphics of Gorkha Edition are also visible on the fuel tank and side panel of the bike.

Have any major changes been made in the design of the bike?

No major changes are expected in the base design of the new bike. The same round headlamp, classic bodywork, wire-spoke wheels and chrome finish of the Classic 350 has been retained. The side panel features a crossed Khukri motif, which reflects the traditional identity associated with Gorkha soldiers. Because of this, the look of the bike appears different and more military themed than the existing Classic 350.

Will there be any changes in the engine also?

Mechanically, no major changes are expected in the Gorkha Edition. The bike is said to use the existing 349cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled J-Series engine. This engine produces 20.2 bhp of maximum power and 27 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. That means this time the company's focus is on giving a different identity to the bike instead of changing the performance.

Can new features also be available?

The company has recently added features like assist and slipper clutch and USB Type-C fast charging port to the existing dual-channel ABS variant of the Classic 350. It is expected in the reports that these facilities can also be found in Gorkha Edition. The spy images show a semi-digital instrument cluster with an LCD display along with an analog speedometer. However, different reports have revealed different information regarding the Tripper navigation pod, so its official confirmation will be available only at the time of launch.

What will you get in brakes and suspension?

The existing hardware of the bike is likely to be carried over. It will be provided with telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, disc brakes on both wheels and dual-channel ABS are expected. In this sense, instead of making major mechanical changes in the Gorkha Edition, the tried and tested setup of the Classic 350 can be retained.

How much can the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition cost?

Royal Enfield has not yet officially announced the price of Gorkha Edition. The starting price of the current Classic 350 is around Rs 1.87 lakh ex-showroom. Some auto reports have estimated the price of Gorkha Edition to be around Rs 2.25 to 2.30 lakh ex-showroom, but this should not be considered as the company's official price. The final price will be revealed at the launch event on August 18.
