New Delhi: Royal Enfield has launched its first electric motorcycle, the 'Flying Flea C6', under its new EV sub-brand. With this launch, the company has officially made its foray into the electric two-wheeler segment. The ex-showroom price of this e-motorcycle is ₹2.79 lakh. However, under the 'Battery-as-a-Service' model, it is priced at ₹1.99 lakh. Bookings and test rides for the vehicle will commence on April 10 at the first dedicated Flying Flea showroom, located in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of May.
The name 'Flying Flea' evokes memories of the original lightweight motorcycle utilized during the 1940s. The new C6 carries forward this very ethos. It blends a neo-vintage design with connected technology, positioning itself as a motorcycle ideal for daily commuting. At the core of the C6 lies a 3.91 kWh Li-ion battery pack, featuring an air-cooled thermal management system.
The battery is housed within a magnesium alloy casing—a feature being utilized for the first time in this segment. This unit is coupled with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, which generates approximately 20.6 hp of power and 60 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted via a two-stage belt drive system, while the motor itself is integrated with the control unit. The Flying Flea C6 is capable of reaching a top speed of up to 115 km/h. It accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. On a single full charge, it offers an IDC-certified range of 154 km.
This battery can charge from 0% to 100% in approximately 2 hours and 16 minutes, while topping up from 20% to 80% takes about 65 minutes. The system supports multiple charging modes, including Rapid, Standard, and Trickle charging. It can be plugged into any universal wall outlet using the onboard charger.
In terms of features, the bike includes a 3.5-inch color TFT touchscreen display, USB-C charging, wireless phone charging, and an electronic handlebar lock. It will be available for purchase in two color options: Storm Black and Flea Green. The Flying Flea C6 is set to be launched in various cities across different phases. Several other variants may also be added to the lineup in the future.
Regarding hardware, this motorcycle features a unique-in-its-category girder linkage front suspension, complemented by a rear monoshock unit with preload adjustment alongside a hydraulic twin setup. The suspension travel measures 100 mm at the front and 110 mm at the rear. It is fitted with 19-inch tubeless tires and black alloy wheels on both ends.
For braking, the bike features a 260 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc. These are paired with a dual-channel ABS system that offers three sensitivity levels and a switchable rear ABS function. In addition to lean-angle sensitive ABS and traction control, the bike also includes a tip-over alert system and a location-sharing feature to ensure enhanced safety while riding or in the event of a crash.
This motorcycle measures 2,089 mm in length, 831 mm in width, and 1,122 mm in height. It has a seat height of 823 mm and a ground clearance of 207 mm. Its curb weight is 124 kg, and it is capable of carrying a load of up to 160 kg. It utilizes a lightweight aluminum frame that is entirely weld-free, featuring bolt-on components that allow for extensive customization according to personal preference.
