New Delhi: Tata Motors has now also introduced its XPRES sedan in petrol and twin-cylinder CNG options, providing taxi, cab and other fleet operators with an even better, affordable and reliable vehicle. Earlier this model was available only in an electric version, but now the company has strengthened its strategy to reach more people.

What is the price of these new variants and where will the booking be done?

Ex-showroom prices for the petrol variant of the XPRES start at Rs 5.59 lakh, while the twin-cylinder CNG model starts at Rs 6.59 lakh. Bookings for both variants have now started at authorized fleet dealerships across India.

What is the specialty of the engine and drivetrain of these cars?

Both the XPRES petrol and CNG variants get a 1.2-litre Revotron engine, which works with a manual gearbox. This engine is designed for reliable and long-term fleet use, so it will not cause problems in everyday operation. Especially in the CNG variant, the company has installed the segment's first 70-liter (water capacity) twin-cylinder CNG tank, which reduces the worry of frequent refueling and the operator can cover longer distances.

What is the difference between boot space and use case?

The boot space in these models has been specially designed keeping this in mind. The petrol XPRES gets a large boot space of 419 litres, which is the largest in the segment and helps in carrying heavy luggage. Despite the CNG variant having a twin-cylinder tank, there is no major compromise on boot space, thereby providing ease to fleet operators in loaded luggage situations.

For whom will these new variants prove to be most beneficial?

The new petrol and CNG variants of XPRES have been specially designed for fleet operators. This car will provide a more stable, durable and fuel-efficient option for needs like taxi service, cab service, airport shuttle, employee transport service etc. The company aims to provide fleet operators with variants that remain reliable even under the rigors of daily use and keep operating costs low.

Overall, this initiative by Tata is a big step towards making further inroads into the fleet market with petrol and CNG options. If you run a taxi or cab business or work in a related service, the new variants of XPRES can give you a balanced, user-friendly and cost-effective option.
