Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) may announce the official date and time for the Matric Annual Examination 2026 results at any moment. According to sources, the verification process for toppers is in its final stages, and Board Chairman Anand Kishor is expected to announce the results via a press conference. Students will be able to check their scorecards on the official website, biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in, using their Roll Code and Roll Number.

The Bihar Board is once again poised to create history by being the first in the country to release its results. This year, over 1.6 million candidates appeared for the Matriculation examination, which was conducted between February 15 and February 23, 2026. Following the release of the Intermediate (Class 12) results on March 23, all eyes are now fixed on the Class 10 results.

Is evaluation of answer sheets complete?

According to reliable sources within the Board, the evaluation of answer sheets has been completed, and the interview process for toppers is currently underway. It has been a long-standing tradition of the Bihar Board to conduct a physical verification of students ranking in the top 10 prior to releasing the results, ensuring that transparency is maintained.

Last year (2025), the Matric results were released on March 29 at 12:15 PM, with a total pass percentage of 82.91%. This year as well, it is anticipated that the results will be declared by the last week of March (likely on March 30 or 31). Once the results are released, students will be able to download their mark sheets online; however, they will need to collect their original mark sheets from their respective schools a few days later. Students are advised to keep their admit cards ready so that they can check their results without any delay as soon as the link becomes active.

As is the tradition every year, the Bihar government is set to shower rewards upon the toppers this time as well. The student securing the first position in the Matriculation examination will be awarded ₹1 lakh, a laptop, and a Kindle e-book reader. Meanwhile, the meritorious students securing the second and third positions will receive amounts of ₹75,000 and ₹50,000, respectively.

How to check result and scrutiny of answer sheet?

Bihar Board students will also be able to securely download their results and digital mark sheets via the DigiLocker app. The Board, in collaboration with the IT Department, has completed the data synchronization process to ensure that students can view their scores without any hassle, even in the event of a website crash.

For students who are dissatisfied with their obtained marks, a 'scrutiny' (answer sheet re-checking) process will be initiated a few days after the results are declared. To avail of this, students will be required to pay a prescribed fee per subject, following which their answer sheets will undergo re-evaluation.

There is speculation within the corridors of the Education Department that the Board may issue an official notification regarding the declaration of results by this evening. Students can follow the Bihar Board's official handle on the social media platform 'X', where the information will be shared first.

If a student fails in one or two subjects by a margin of just 2–4 marks, the Board may grant them 'grace marks' to help them pass. This provision proves to be a lifeline for students who narrowly miss the passing threshold (33%), ensuring that their entire academic year is not wasted.

The online mark sheet will display the student's name, roll number, roll code, parents' names, and the marks obtained in each subject (Theory + Practical). Students are advised to take a printout of their result, as this will serve as a provisional document for admission into the 11th grade in the future.

To pass the Bihar Board Matriculation examination, it is mandatory for students to secure a minimum of 33 percent marks in each subject. If a student fails in one or two subjects, they will be given an opportunity to save their academic year by appearing in the 'Compartment Examination' conducted by the Board. To check their Matric results, students will require the 'Roll Code' and 'Roll Number' provided on their admit cards. Without these, it will not be possible to access the online marksheet; therefore, examinees should safeguard their documents starting now.
