New Delhi/Patna: Amidst the hustle and bustle of government formation in Patna, JDU is suddenly caught in a new dilemma. Amidst the ongoing discussion regarding the post of Deputy CM, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar has adopted such a stance, which has shocked the party's strategy. According to sources, Nishant has given clear indications that he is not in favor of accepting this post at present.
According to the information, Nishant Kumar has bluntly said that he does not want to take the responsibility of Deputy CM without becoming an MLA. He believes that it would be better to first go among the public and win the elections and then assume office. This is the reason why he has distanced himself from this proposal for the time being.
There is a constant stir within JDU regarding this issue. Senior leaders and people close to him are talking to Nishant and trying to convince him to change his decision. However, no concrete results have emerged so far.
This situation has raised an important question before the party. If Nishant Kumar sticks to his stand, then a new face will have to be found for the post of Deputy CM. The party leadership is considering this and different options are under discussion.
If sources are to be believed, if a solution is not found soon, the format of the swearing-in ceremony may change. In such a situation, only the chief minister can take oath first and the decision of Deputy Chief Minister can be taken later.
Efforts are on within the party to find a solution by late evening. However, everything will depend on whether Nishant Kumar shows softness in his stance or not. At present, this entire incident has sparked a new discussion in the politics of Bihar and all eyes are fixed on the next step of JDU.
