Major Crowd Incident at Singheswar Temple During Final Sawan Monday, Several Injured

Bihar: A stampede-like situation was created among the huge crowd of devotees who had come for Jalabhishek on the last Monday of Sawan at the famous Sinheshwar Dham temple located in Madhepura, Bihar. There was chaos at the main entrance of the temple due to sudden increase in crowd pressure. During this, about six devotees were injured and were sent to the hospital for treatment.

There has been a steady stream of devotees at Sinheshwar Dham since morning. A large number of devotees had reached the temple for Jalabhishek and darshan of Lord Shiva. Meanwhile, the crowd of people at the main entrance kept increasing and the situation worsened in their haste to move forward.

How did the stampede like situation arise in Sinheshwar Dham temple?

According to eyewitnesses, between 6:25 am and 7 am, the pressure of devotees suddenly increased at the main gate of the temple. People started trying to overtake each other for darshan. When the crowd went out of control, some people fell on the ground and chaos spread.

How many devotees were injured in the accident?

Information about six devotees being injured in the incident has come to light. The injured are said to include four women and two men. People trapped in the crowd were taken out by security personnel and immediate medical aid was provided.

To which hospital were the injured admitted?

The injured devotees were sent to Madhepura Medical College Hospital for treatment. They are being treated there under the supervision of doctors. The condition of the injured is being monitored by the administration.

How did the police and administration handle the situation?

As soon as information about the chaos was received, the policemen and administrative officials deployed at the spot took charge. Along with the security forces, workers of social organisations also helped in controlling the crowd. Devotees who fell on the ground and were trapped in the crowd were taken out safely.

After the incident, additional security forces have been deployed on the temple premises. Police and administrative officials are present at the spot and are monitoring the activities of the crowd. After the situation became normal, darshan and worship for the devotees were resumed smoothly.

Due to it being the last Monday of Sawan, a huge crowd had gathered at Sinheshwar Dham. The administration says that now devotees are being allowed to enter the temple in a controlled manner so that such a situation does not happen again.
