More than 400 flights canceled, 27 airports closed What's going on in your city?

Following Operation Sindoor, 27 airports in the nation have been shut down until May 10 due to the tension along the Pakistan border. Besides this, over 400 flights have also been grounded.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the three Indian armies conducted airstrikes at 9 terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK, operating the combined operation Sindoor. Various measures have been taken by India following the escalation of tension on the border. These include the temporary shut-down of nearly 25 airports in the northern and western regions of the country. Nevertheless, hundreds of flights have also been canceled as a result of this. As per reports, over 400 flights on several routes have been canceled based on security reasons. Meanwhile, 25 major and minor airports around the nation have also shut down. How many flights have been cancelled?

Over 400 flights have been cancelled across the country under this security campaign. This decision has been made in order to ensure passengers' safety and for the sake of maintaining seamless security of airports. This has created inconvenience for the passengers, but priority has been given to safety. All such flights have been cancelled until May 10.

  • Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport
  • Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport
  • Chennai International Airport
  • Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Besides this, these closures have been implemented in the northern and western regions of the nation. These consist of Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala and Jamnagar apart from Srinagar.

What will be the refund?

Now the question arises whether people will get a refund on flight cancellation? Air India and Air India Express have given full refund and rescheduling discounts to soldiers and armed forces staff on cancellation of tickets. Delhi airport has announced in its advisory that travelers can depart for the airport only after verifying the flight status. All operations at the terminal and on all 4 runways are going on normally. Flights have been affected, though, due to variable airspace conditions.
