New Delhi: Crude oil is becoming increasingly expensive abroad, but it is a matter of relief that the prices of petrol and diesel have still not increased here. There is no change in the new rates released by oil companies on Sunday. Taxes are different in every city, hence the prices are also different. If we talk about the last week, Brent crude has increased by 7.6 percent in the international market. American crude has become costlier by about 10 percent. On Friday, Brent was at 92.68 dollars per barrel and WTI at 91.48 dollars. In such a situation, everyone felt that today the rates will increase in India too, but it did not happen.
There has been no increase even today. The last time the prices changed was in May, since then the rates in big cities have been absolutely stable. Companies update the rates every morning at 6 am, even today the old rates are the same.
In Delhi, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.12 a litre and diesel at Rs 95.20 a litre. This feeling has been going on in the capital for the last 3-4 months, there is some relief for the people.
Metro cities are costlier than Delhi. Petrol in Mumbai is Rs 111.21 and diesel is Rs 97.83 per litre. Petrol in Kolkata Rs 113.51 and diesel Rs 99.82. In Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 107.76 and diesel at Rs 99.55 per litre. It is above Rs 110 in Mumbai and Kolkata.
If we talk about other cities, it is Rs 101.81 per litre in Gurugram, Rs 100.93 in Noida, Rs 105.95 in Bengaluru and Rs 108.67 in Bhubaneswar. In Chandigarh, the cheapest petrol is available at Rs 96.20; in Hyderabad, Rs 110.20; in Jaipur, Rs 109.10; in Lucknow, Rs 97.15; in Patna, Rs 107.24; and in Thiruvananthapuram, Rs 110.40 per litre.
Let's also check diesel. Rs 95.20 per litre in Delhi, Rs 99.82 in Kolkata, Rs 97.83 in Mumbai and Rs 99.55 per litre in Chennai. The litre of diesel is priced at Rs 95.64 in Gurugram, 95.25 in Noida, Rs 100.56 in Bengaluru, Rs 89.47 in Chandigarh (which is the lowest), Rs 104.23 in Hyderabad, Rs 98.50 in Jaipur, Rs 96.18 in Lucknow and Rs 99.36 in Patna.
There is a fear of this. If crude goes above 95 dollars in the international market, pressure on companies will increase. When the prices increased in May, they increased by Rs 7-8 in one go. There is no official announcement yet, but experts are saying that if this trend continues then the rates may increase next week. For now there is relief.
