PM Kisan Yojana: For millions of farmers across the country, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana) has become more than just a government scheme; it's a major source of financial support. The central government has successfully released 21 installments of this scheme so far, and now the farmers are eagerly awaiting the 22nd installment.
According to government rules, this money is disbursed three times a year, during the periods of April-July, August-November, and December-March. Since the last installment was released in November 2025, the next, the 22nd installment, is due between December and March. However, considering the past patterns and administrative preparations, it is estimated that the government may release the 22nd installment in March 2026 or early April 2026.
Will the budget bring good fortune for farmers?
Currently, the entire country is awaiting the Union Budget to be presented on February 1. When Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presents the budget in Parliament, it may contain significant good news for farmers. Currently, eligible farmers receive Rs. 6,000 annually under the PM Kisan Yojana, disbursed in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each.
Given the rising inflation and increasing cost of farming, there has been a long-standing demand to increase this amount. Therefore, it is speculated that the government may announce an increase in the amount of the Samman Nidhi in this budget. If this happens, it will be a great relief for millions of farming families across the country.
It is often observed that even after the installment is released, the money does not reach the accounts of many farmers. The biggest reason for this is the incomplete e-KYC process. The government has made it clear that only those farmers whose e-KYC process is complete will receive the benefit of the next installment.
If you have not yet completed this process, do so immediately through the PM Kisan portal or mobile app. You don't even need to go anywhere for this. The government has launched an OTP-based e-KYC system. If your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar card, you can complete the verification process from the comfort of your home.
To do this, simply visit the official portal (pmkisan.gov.in), select the 'e-KYC' option, and enter your Aadhaar number and the OTP you receive.
