NEET-UG Re-Test to Get Tight Security Cover, High Level Meeting Hosted

A high-level meeting led by Rajnath Singh discussed this measure following the cancellation of the original May 3 exam and a subsequent CBI investigation that led to 13 arrests.

New Delhi: The government stepped up security for the NEET-UG re-test on June 21. The move came after the controversy over the alleged paper leak in the entrance exam. Government deliberated to make breach-proof and disruptionless process, through the use of IAF Jets. These jets will be used as a carrier of examination papers and sheets to the respective centres.

Rajnath Singh Led Crucial Meeting

High Level meeting was held in Delhi, considering the significance of this issue. Meeting was led by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of Information and Broadcasting Jyotiraditya Scindia were also present at the meeting.

Agency to Work in Coordination

Meanwhile, officials are working to make the examination process completely secure. Strict checks will be in place at every stage. This includes printing, storage, and transportation of question papers.

Authorities have also strengthened coordination between security agencies. Exam materials will remain under close watch until they reach test centres.

Contemplation to use of Airforce

According to reports, Ministers discussed the possibility of using the Indian Air Force Jets to deliver the answer sheets and question paper. The high-speed aircraft were considered to ensure a completely breach-proof transit process.

Measures to Avoiding Irregularities

The aim is to prevent any leak or irregularity. Officials say candidates should get a fair and transparent examination. Reports suggest that PM Modi will also keep eye on the situation and will be monitor every step of the examination process.

PM Modi's Approval

Although no final decision has been taken on the matter yet, the proposal will be presented before PM Modi for his official approval. Reports suggest that the government is weighing all options carefully to guarantee a completely secure and flawless examination process.

NEET Re-test:

The June 21 re-test is expected to be conducted under tighter security than ever before. However, approximately 23 lakh candidates have been registered for the earlier held examination, dated 3rd of May. 551 Indian Cities and 14 foreign centres conducted NEET UG examination. After 4 days of the examination conducted, alleged irregularities have been reported. This sweeping decision made NTA to share the relevant inputs and data to the the external agency for independent investigation. Amid rows of irregularities in examination, NTA cancelled the previously conducted examination and rescheduled it for the 21st of June.

13 Arrested in CBI Probe

So far, CBI Conducted investigation following the written complaint recieved by Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan. 13 accused were arrested in a nationwide raid of CBI. The arrests were made in Delhi, Jaypur, Gurugram, Nasik, Pune and Ahilyanagar.
