Odisha: A surprising news has come to light from Odisha. A Class 5 English textbook reportedly contains the lyrics of the Aishwarya Rai led popular Bollywood song 'Nimbuda-Nimbuda' from the 1999 film 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', instead of educational content.
According to a media report, the error was noticed after images of the textbook began circulating online on social media. The pages that are meant for primary school students, allegedly featured non educational content upon it. The pages were consist the song's lyrics, raising serious concerns about the editing and quality-check. It is the process followed before the books were printed.
The incident has triggered questions over how such a major mistake slipped through multiple stages of proofreading, review, and approval. Parents and education experts have expressed concern, asking how the error went unnoticed before the textbooks reached students.

Nityananda Gond, Minister, Government of Odisha had said that the three-member committee had formed by the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi. It is to look into the editorial errors found in the textbooks. This committee asked strict action against the people who were responsible for the negligence, followed by an enquiry. Now, Chief Minister has been informed that teachers will be teaching according to the correcty copies, that were sent to all the schools.
