Himanta Biswa Sarma Hints at 18-19 Ministers Ahead of Assam NDA Oath Ceremony

Guwahati: Once again the political atmosphere is heated in Assam. Himanta Biswa Sarma is going to sit on the Chief Minister's chair again. The public has once again expressed confidence in him and the NDA and now preparations for the oath ceremony have been completed. Sarma himself has said that this time 18 to 19 ministers can be included in the cabinet but no one's name has been confirmed yet.

When will the names of ministers be known?

On Sunday, when journalists questioned Sarma, he clearly said that no name will be decided until BJP President JP Nadda comes to Guwahati. After Nadda's arrival, a meeting will be held and the list will be ready by night. Those who will become ministers will be informed about it the next morning. Sarma also said that this decision will not be taken only by him but by the entire party.

Will new faces also become ministers this time?

On this question, Sarma said that this time some new faces may also be included in the cabinet. Also, old and experienced leaders will also not be ignored. He said that while making the team, every aspect will be kept in mind and a complete balance will be maintained.

Where will the oath ceremony take place?

The ceremony will be held on May 12 at the Veterinary College grounds in Guwahati. Governor Laxman Prasad will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Acharya Sarma and all the ministers. Such a large ground has been chosen so that the common people of Assam can also witness this historic moment.

Who will attend the ceremony?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the event as the chief guest and will reach Guwahati at around 10.30 am. Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will also be present with him. Chief ministers of many NDA ruled states will also reach the occasion. Overall, it is going to be a big and memorable event.

Sarma said that the trust given by the people of Assam will be maintained under any circumstances. The pace of development that was there during the last tenure will continue in future also. The first responsibility of this government will be to fulfil the promises made in the elections and the public will not be disappointed.
