Mumbai: One of the most-awaited films of the year, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', aka 'Dhurandhar 2', will hit screens on March 19. The Ranveer Singh starrer will have paid premieres on March 18. Several celebrities have already seen the film on Tuesday. Now the film's Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) report has surfaced, that orders 21 edits to Aditya Dhar's film.
The CBFC’s Examining Committee report suggested a total of 21 edits to 'Dhurandhar 2', with at least four major cuts targeting scenes of extreme violence.
The changes include muting and replacing profanities, correcting historical references, and altering city names.
Four violent sequences, including smashing the eye, beheading and kicking, hitting the head with a cement block and hitting the head with a hammer, were shortened by a combined 34 seconds, alongside other edits totalling 94 seconds removed.
The CBFC also said to add disclaimers on disturbing content and drug use, Hindi chapter titles, and proof of permissions for political references and animal scenes before granting an ‘A’ certificate.
After the edits, according to the certification details, the film has secured an 'A' rating, with a final runtime in India of 3 hours, 49 minutes, and 36 seconds.
The makers had submitted approximately 3 hours and 51 minutes version of the film to the CBFC.
After the additional cuts of around 1.3 minutes suggested by the board, the domestic version of the film is now more than 6 minutes shorter than the overseas cut, which has a runtime of approximately 3 hours and 55 minutes.
