Mumbai: When you hear the name Aditya Pancholi, you remember that actor who was once seen in hit films but now mostly in controversies. He has once again created a new controversy. He claims that he was the first choice for the lead role in the superhit 'Tezaab' film released in 1988 which made Anil Kapoor a star and Madhuri Dixit the Dhak-Dhak girl overnight. But industry politics and nepotism ousted him.
Aditya Pancholi shared a post on his X account and wrote, "I was the first choice for the film 'Tezaab.' The work with Madhuri had already been finalized. Director N. Chandra was about to sign me, but suddenly I was thrown out of the film due to the politics of the actor's elder brother. This is the truth of Bollywood. Recently I saw that the same actor was giving a statement on nepotism. In fact, politics, nepotism, favoritism and power plays in the industry are the most harmful for any career."
Although Aditya did not directly take the name of Anil Kapoor or Boney Kapoor in his post, his gesture started a discussion on social media that he was pointing towards these two brothers.
After Aditya Pancholi's post, users trolled Anil Kapoor fiercely on Twitter and Instagram. One user wrote, “Today Anil Kapoor is getting the fruits of his actions; that is why his son is a flop.” While another wrote, "That actor always used to lobby to grab the roles of others. Even in the film 'Parinda,' he did not want Naseeruddin Shah."
'Tezaab,' directed by N. Chandra, was a superhit film of the year 1988. The pairing of Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor in the film was greatly liked by the audience. The song ‘Ek Do Teen’ from this film made Madhuri the “Mohini” of Bollywood. This revelation of Aditya Pancholi is continuously going viral on social media. Now it remains to be seen what reaction comes from Anil Kapoor or his family.
