Asrani's wife fulfilled his last wish: Famous Bollywood actor Govardhan Asrani has passed away. 84-year-old Asrani died on Diwali day, i.e., 20 October 2025, between 3:30 and 4:00 pm at Arogya Nidhi Hospital in Mumbai. Asrani, who was ill for the last several days, was admitted to the hospital when his condition deteriorated, where he died. The news of his demise came late, and the shocking thing was that this information was not made public before his funeral.

Asrani made a place in the hearts of the audience with his comic image for more than four decades in Hindi cinema. He worked in more than 300 films, including blockbusters like "Sholay," "Angoor," and "Namak Halal." His famous role as "the jailer of the British era" will always be remembered. There is a wave of mourning in Bollywood due to his demise.
