Washington: America's famous country singer, actress and social worker Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80. She died peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee. The family was informed about her death on Tuesday 25 August. There is a wave of mourning in the whole world including America due to her demise. US President Donald Trump has also paid tribute to Dolly and announced keeping the American flag at half mast for a week across the country.

How did the family give the information?

A video was released by Dolly's family on their official Instagram. The video was shared by Brian Seaver, her nephew and her head of security for more than 20 years. "Dolly lived in the light and is now in the arms of Jesus, where she will surely be joined by her husband Carl, her parents and many others," he said. The family said that the funeral will be private and have appealed for donations to be made to her Imagination Library in lieu of flowers.

Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social – "It is with great sadness that we announce that Dolly Parton, one of the greatest country singers of all time, has passed away. This is a huge loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her and there never will be. "I am flying the American flag at half mast for a week, starting today at 6 pm.
