Ghaziabad: Haryanvi folk singer and renowned Ragni performer Pepsi Sharma passed away at the age of 38 after suffering sudden chest pain, family members said. He was admitted to a private hospital, where he died during treatment.
Ragni performer Pepsi Sharma passed away on Monday after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. The singer, who is known for his performances in the Haryanvi music and Ragni circuit, complained of chest pain before his condition deteriorated.
Seeing his condition worsen, family and close friends immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital. However, his condition remained critical during treatment, and he eventually breathed his last.
Pepsi Sharma was one of the artists who played a significant role in reinventing Haryanvi folk music. His voice clearly reflected the fragrance of the native soil and folk culture. This is why his songs were loved from rural areas to urban areas.
Through his Haryanvi folk songs, he carved a special place in the hearts of a large audience. His singing, a unique blend of traditional culture and modern presentation, earned him a distinct identity.
