Entertainment News: When the ruling and opposition parties brandish swords in the debates of India, there is a voice that attacks not with the sword but with the pen and that voice is Javed Akhtar. When this poet of the world of songs speaks on social truth, there are less applause and more abuses. But Javed Akhtar is one of those people who do not respond with sidelong glances but with a straight tongue.

When Javed, recently present at the launch of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut's book 'Narkatala Swarg', took the microphone, he neither recited a poem nor shared a film tale. He narrated the bitter truth of the times which most people are afraid to say even in a hushed voice.

I don't have any religious agenda, I write with the ink of humanity

Javed Akhtar said,"When you are on one side, you get abused only from one side. But when you speak honestly for everyone, then you get abused from all sides. And that's what I get."

His statement was not just a complaint, but a warning - for those who think that flowers are laid out on both sides for those who speak the truth.

"Jihadi or Kafir? No, I am just a citizen

Akhtar revealed how one side calls him a 'kafir' and the other a 'jihadi'."Some say go to hell,Some say go to Pakistan. Now if I have these two options,I will choose hell - because at least there honesty will be alive."

There was polite rebellion in this satire and also a spark of self-respect. Javed said that if he is afraid, it is only of not being able to tell the truth.

I don't want trolling, I want applause - this is just an illusion

Javed Akhtar said that whoever speaks the truth will be rejected from both sides."If a day comes when I stop getting abuses,Then I will understand that I have sold my conscience."This statement of his was like an introspection in the world of intellectuals.

Javed Akhtar is no longer just the name that gave voice to Veeru in Sholay or made Don powerful. Now he is the mirror of that society where speaking the truth is either given the label of religion or of treason. But Javed Akhtar is above both of these - because he does not just answer, he also teaches passion.

A hope of light in the darkness

In this era when ideology has taken away humanity from man, people like Javed Akhtar become not slogans but views. His words are not propaganda of any party, they are the shadow of truth – which gives hope of light in the darkness.
