Mumbai: Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday in Mumbai at the age of 92, marking the end of an era in the Indian music industry. The iconic singer breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital. The veteran singer was admitted to Mumbai's Hospital on Saturday due to chest infection and respiratory problems.

The last rites of legendary singer Asha Bhosle will be performed at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Monday with State honours.

Asha Bhosle's funeral will be held on Monday at 4 pm at Shivaji Park and her son Anand Bhosle has urged fans to avoid gathering at the funeral venue.

Legendary singer Asha Bhosle's last rites will be performed with full state honours today. Prior to this, mortal remains of the veteran singer were wrapped in the tricolour as people pay their last respects at her residence in Mumbai.

What is the reason of death?

Asha Bhosle died of multi-organ failure, the family and hospital management said.

Dr. Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital said that due to multi-organ failure Asha Bhosle passed away.

Dr. Samdani said that Asha Bhosle was immediately brought to the hospital after she suffered a cardiac arrest. She was treated in the hospital's Emergency Medical Services Unit, but could not be saved due to multiple organ failure.
