Pankaj Tripathi's Brother Attacked With Axe in Bihar Land Dispute, Accused Arrested

Patna: Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi's brother Vijayendranath Tripathi was allegedly attacked with an axe in Gopalganj district in Bihar. Police have arrested the accused in connection with the incident, officials said.

What was the location of the incident?

The incident is said to have taken place in the actor's home village of Belsand in Barauli town located in the Madhopur police station area in Gopalganj district. According to preliminary reports, the fight was over land rights and a feud. On June 21, the accused used sharp objects to attack Vijayendranath.

What did the cops say?

Vijayendranath was rushed to a local hospital, where after applying first aid doctors pronounced him critical, and sent to Patna Medical College and Hospital for further treatment, police said. He is said to be in critical condition.

Local police after receiving information in respect of the incident, reached the spot and started investigation into the matter. Police conducted an investigation at the scene, and formed a special team to secure the arrest of the accused. Police immediately responded to the case and started their investigation. This resulted in a big step forward on Monday.

Has the accused been arrested?

The main accused, Rajesh Sah, has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody, said Sadar SDPO-2 Rajesh Kumar. He also said the family hasn't yet submitted a written complaint. The officer added that the police will take further legal action after receiving a formal complaint.
