Well-known actress Priya Marathe, cherished for her contributions to both Marathi and Hindi television, has died at the age of 38 after a prolonged and brave battle with cancer. She passed away at her house in Mira Road, Mumbai, in the early hours of August 31, 2025, according to reports.
Priya worked in the industry for more than twenty years, starting with Marathi serials and later becoming a well-known face in Hindi shows.
She started her career as an actress in 2007 with the Marathi television serial Ya Sukhano Ya on Zee Marathi. She also worked in other popular shows such as Char Divas Sasuche, Ya Sukhano Ya, and more recently, Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe. Priya made her debut in Hindi television by portraying Vidya Bali as a lead role in Kasamh Se. Later, she displayed her versatility in Comedy Circus and won appreciation for her roles as Priya Mohite in Tu Tithe Me and Jyoti Malhotra in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.
Priya was married to actor Shantanu Moghe, who is best known for playing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji. Their bond was admired both on-screen and in real life. Her unexpected demise has deeply stunned her admirers, colleagues, and the entire television community.
