Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar 2' creates history, becomes first Bollywood film to cross Rs 1,000 crore net in India

Mumbai: Aditya Dhar's spy-thriller 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has created box office history. The Ranveer Singh-starrer has become the first Bollywood film to surpass Rs 1,000 crore net at the Indian box office, achieving the feat in just 18 days. Released on March 19, 'Dhurandhar 2' is doing double-digit business every day. 

What is 'Dhurandhar 2' collection till now?

The action thriller has exceeded expectations, and even in its third week, theaters are still receiving huge crowds.

According to the trade website SacNilk, 'Dhurandhar 2' has earned a remarkable Rs 28.75 crore on its 18th day. Such earnings, even in its third week, clearly demonstrate that 'Dhurandhar 2' remains the audience's top choice. 

The spy-action thriller grossed Rs 674 crore in its first week and Rs 263.65 crore in its second. 'Dhurandhar 2' total collection has reached Rs 1013.77 crore and the gross collection has now reached Rs 1213.74 crore.

Will 'Dhurandhar 2' beat 'Baahubali 2'?

SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2', had earlier set the benchmark of minting crores in record days, collected Rs 1,030.40 crore (net) in India in a month.

Now, 'Dhurandhar 2' is next targeting 'Baahubali 2' and 'Pushpa 2', which has  the lifetime collection record of Rs 1,234.10 crore. 

Which other films has 'Dhurandhar 2' surpassed?

'Dhurandhar 2' has also surpassed the lifetime earnings of SS Rajamouli's 'RRR', which grossed Rs 1,230 crore worldwide and Yash's 'KGF: Chapter 2', Rs 1,215 crore gross.

The Aditya Dhar's sequel is now trailing behind the worldwide collection of 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', which grossed Rs 1,788.06 crore worldwide and Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', with Rs 1,742.10 crore gross.

Even blockbusters like 'Jawaan', 'Pathan', 'Stree 2', and 'Animal' pale in comparison to 'Dhurandhar 2'. 

Surprisingly, the film crossed the Rs 10 billion (approximately $1.2 billion) worldwide mark in its first week.

Where does 'Dhurandhar 2' stand in list?

'Dhurandhar 2' has gained a significant foothold in the international market and currently ranks sixth among the highest-grossing Bollywood films overseas. 

Aamir Khan remains the most successful Indian star internationally, holding the top two spots. 'Dangal' tops the list with a total overseas collection of Rs 1,535.30 crore (US$1.53 billion). This figure comes from its historic earnings in China, where it earned Rs 1,305.29 crore (US$2.03 million). 

'Secret Superstar' is in second place with an overseas collection of Rs 831.47 crore (over US$1.24 million). Despite a modest budget of just Rs 15 crore, it became the second Indian film to cross the $100 million mark overseas.

Has 'Dhurandhar 2' beaten its own record?

The Aditya Dhar's directorial has beaten its own record of 'Dhurandhar Part 1', which grossed Rs 1,307.35 crore worldwide last year to become the highest earning Indian film of 2025.

'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' tells the story of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who seeks revenge after the tragic demise of his family. After being recruited by the Armed Forces and Air Force (R&AW), he undergoes a complete transformation and transforms into Hamza Ali Mazari, India's most dangerous undercover spy, stationed in Karachi.
