Veteran Actor Dharmendra Passes Away At The Age Of 89

Veteran actor Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89 today. Bollywood actor Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan were seen arriving at the Vile Parle Crematorium.

Maharashtra:  Veteran actor Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89 today morning. Earlier, on November 12, Bollywood actor Dharmendra got discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and was said to be in a stable condition and recovering well at home.

Earlier, Dr Rajiv Sharma told IANS that the legendary star has gone home “fully satisfied” after receiving the required treatment. Earlier, Dr Rajiv Sharma, sharing an update on the actor’s health, stated, “Dharmendra ji has gone from the hospital with full satisfaction. His family has taken him home. Everything has been arranged for him.”

He also said, “He is in a stable condition. I request the public not to spread the false news but instead pray for his recovery so that he can celebrate his next birthday with pride.”

Meanwhile, after the news of the actor's demise, his wife Hema Malini, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan and others were seen arriving at the Vile Parle Crematorium in Mumbai.  

The veteran actor would have celebrated his 90th birthday on December 8. Meanwhile, on the the professional front, Dharmendra last appeared in the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in 2024. The film also featured Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. Dharmendra was next set to be seen in the film 'Ikkis', helmed by director Sriram Raghavan. The film also features Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia. 

The veteran actor is one of the greatest, and most successful film stars in the Indian film industry. Dharmendra had a cinematic career spanning over six decades and had worked in more than 300 films. He made his debut in the 1960 Bollywood film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere.

The veteran actor had a record for starring in the highest number of hit films in Hindi cinema. He was also honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2012.
