Thiruvananthapuram: Amidst allegations of love jihad after marrying Farman Khan in a temple, Monalisa Bhosle held a press conference in Kerala. Bhosle stated that she married according to Hindu customs. "This marriage is not love jihad, as people are saying. I respect all religions because all religions are equal." Monalisa's husband, Farman, claimed that no one converted to another religion for the sake of marriage.

"My aunt's son was being arranged for me to marry her," Monalisa said. "Farman didn't want to marry her, but I happily married him." She added that she didn't like the man her parents wanted her to marry. They wanted her to marry her aunt's son, who is her brother. Monalisa explained that her father is in Kerala, but he didn't attend the wedding. He was a little upset. He had come to Thiruvananthapuram with her from Indore.

Was the marriage conducted according to Hindu customs?

Monalisa stated that she married according to Hindu customs. Farman Khan, who was present at the press conference, said, "We are artists and respect every religion." Farman explained that neither of them changed their religion for the marriage. He loves Monalisa, so conversion wasn't necessary. Monalisa is a Hindu, so for her happiness, he married her according to Hindu customs.

Is Farman a resident of Uttar Pradesh?

Farman stated that he is a resident of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. Regarding the age controversy, Farman claimed that Monalisa's Aadhaar card shows her age as 18. According to her birth certificate, issued from Madhya Pradesh, Monalisa Bhosle's date of birth is January 1, 2008. Farman stated that he has applied to have their marriage legally registered. At the press conference, Monalisa thanked the Kerala Police for the marriage.
