Mumbai: Actor Yash's much-anticipated film, 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups', is considered one of the most talked-about films of the year, but its release has been postponed once again. Originally, the film was scheduled for June 4, the film has now been postponed for the second time.
Yash on Wednesday officially announced that the film 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups', will not release on June 4 and also said that it will now hit theatres worldwide on a new date.
This is the second time that film is getting postponed, earlier is was scheduled for March 19.
Yash shared the details about the film and its journey on X in a lengthy note.
"There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema. 'Toxic' has been one such journey. Presenting our film at CinemaCon and witnessing the overwhelming global response reaffirmed what we have always believed: this film deserves to reach its fullest potential worldwide," Yash wrote.
The actor further said that the film is completely ready, but some partnerships and distribution process is still going on to release it globally.
Speaking about the same, Yash wrote, "Toxic is complete and we are currently aligning global distribution and partnerships. In light of this, we have decided to recalibrate our release timeline. While we will not be releasing on June 4 as announced earlier, we will be releasing at a later, globally aligned date. Toxic will come to theaters across the world soon."
Yash said that as Indian cinema continues to make its mark on the world stage, it's everyone's responsibility to raise the bar even higher.
"At a time when Indian cinema is finding its voice and stepping onto the global stage with such promise, each of us has a responsibility to raise the bar. As an actor and producer, I see this moment as an opportunity to do my part—for the Indian film industry and for all of us—by taking the time to ensure our film reaches the world with the impact it is meant to have," he wrote.
Yash thanked his fans for their continued support, stating "Through every step and every change, your support has stayed with me, and I carry it with deep gratitude. Some stories ask for patience. Some journeys demand it. We promise to give you a film to enjoy and celebrate—a film that will stand as a proud moment for Indian cinema."
This isn't the first time Toxic's release has been pushed. Directed by Geethu Mohandas, the film was originally scheduled for release on March 19, then postponed to June 4, and now has been postponed again.
Recently, the filmmakers showed a 9-minute sneak peek of the film at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas.
The film's teaser, released on Yash's birthday this year, sparked controversy. Its bold visuals were criticized. A complaint was filed with the Karnataka State Women's Commission, alleging obscenity and negative influence on youth. The National Christian Federation also objected to certain scenes, alleging a negative portrayal of St. Michael.
