International News: America is considered one of the most powerful countries in the world on the basis of its military power, economy, and technical capability. But it does not defeat its enemies only with weapons and technology; rather, it adopts many methods to gather intelligence.

One of its most important initiatives in the fight against terrorism is the Rewards for Justice (RFJ) program, which has been running since 1984. Under this, the US gives huge rewards to those who prove helpful in arresting terrorists or dismantling their network.

Million-dollar reward

Since the beginning of the RFJ program, the US government has given rewards worth about Rs 2,200 crore (250 million dollars) to more than 125 people. These rewards were given to those who provided important information in catching terrorists, preventing their attacks, stopping terrorist funding, or breaking North Korea's illegal network.

Action against Abu Suleiman

The US has given a reward of 5 million dollars (5 million dollars) to two people who gave information about Abu Suleiman, the notorious leader of Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG). The reward was handed over by the US ambassador in a public ceremony on Jolo Island in the Philippines on 7 June 2007. Abu Suleiman was the top commander of ASG active in the Philippines. He was involved in the kidnapping and murder of American and Filipino citizens. On 16 January 2007, the Philippine army, acting on the information received, killed him.

The end of Khadaffy Janjalani

Another big name of ASG, Khadafi Janjalani, was also on the American target. Several people who gave information about him were also given a reward of 5 million dollars. Janjalani was also involved in the kidnapping and murder of American and Philippine citizens, and he had a direct role in the murder of Guillermo Sobero. He also planned the attack on the American Embassy, the Super Ferry 14 explosion, and the Valentine's Day bombings.

On 4 September 2006, the Philippine Army attacked him in an attempt to capture him, in which he escaped after getting injured. In January 2007, two people gave information about the location of his body. DNA tests confirmed that Janjalani had been killed.
