Balochistan Crisis: The situation in Pakistan's Balochistan province is deteriorating rapidly. The conflict between separatist movements and the army has now reached a point where the Pakistan Army has deployed tanks in Baloch areas. This move has not only created fear among the local citizens but human rights organizations and international groups working for Baloch interests have also expressed concern.
Criticizing the increasing strictness and military repression of the Pakistani army in Balochistan, many organizations have termed it as state-sponsored terror. Senior leader of the Free Baloch Movement, Mir Yar Baloch, has described this action of the army as an attempt to intimidate the Baloch people, but he also warned that the Baloch community will fight strongly to protect its self-respect and motherland.
Mir Yar Baloch of the Free Baloch Movement shared a video on X and wrote that after continuous humiliation, the Pakistani army has come out on the streets with its tanks to target the people of Balochistan. Tanks can be clearly seen running on the streets of Balochistan in the video. Mir accused the army of kidnapping unarmed civilians, air strikes and use of force and said that all this is being done to suppress the voice of the Balochs.
Pakistan deployed tanks among the villagers and carried out brutal air strikes. The Pakistani army is suppressing unarmed Baloch civilians to create fear among them. However, the Pakistani government and army will not succeed in this. He also said that the Baloch fighters are fully prepared to defend their motherland and the resolve of 6 crore Balochs will not be weakened by any military action.
Attacks on Pakistani security forces by Baloch rebel groups are continuing. On Friday, two Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers were killed in an attack in Mand area of Kech district of Balochistan. According to information, these soldiers were on a routine patrol when armed attackers opened fire on them and also looted their weapons.
Two Baloch armed organizations have claimed responsibility for attacking the Pakistani army and government projects between Wednesday and Friday. These attacks raise questions on the Pakistani government's claim that the situation in Balochistan is under control. Civil society and human rights organizations are worried after the deployment of tanks and strict action by the army. They say that if the Pakistani government does not try to resolve the situation through dialogue, this conflict can become more fierce, which will put the lives of ordinary citizens at risk.
This situation going on in Balochistan has become an internal security crisis for Pakistan. On one hand, rebel groups are demanding self-determination. On the other hand, the government is trying to control the situation with military force. How deep this conflict will deepen in the coming times remains to be seen, but the picture that is out there right now is terrifying and worrying.
