Iran-Israel Conflict: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a firm and uncompromising statement regarding Israel's stance on Iran, asserting that the country will not wait for a "green light" from the United States before launching military strikes. Netanyahu made it clear that Israel is fully committed to targeting all of Iran’s nuclear facilities and possesses the strategic capabilities necessary to achieve that objective. This declaration comes at a time when geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are intensifying, and global observers are raising serious questions about the current state of U.S.-Israel coordination.
Speaking in an interview with the Kan Public Broadcaster, Netanyahu declared that Israel’s strategic decisions will not be dictated by international diplomacy or external pressures.
“We will demolish all of Iran's nuclear facilities. We have the power and the preparation to do so. We will achieve all our goals, whether the United States supports us or not.”
This statement underscores a significant shift in Israel’s foreign policy, reflecting a clear move towards self-reliance and prioritization of national interests over traditional alliances.
Netanyahu emphasized that while the U.S. has been a long-standing ally, Israel will now act based on its own national security priorities, regardless of American involvement.
“The U.S. will do what is best for their country, and we will do what is necessary for the safety of our own,” he stated firmly.
His remarks indicate a distancing from dependency on American diplomatic backing, especially when it comes to existential threats like Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Netanyahu also claimed that Israel’s campaign against Iran is already well ahead of schedule. According to him, the Israeli military has destroyed at least half of Iran's missile launchers and eliminated several top-ranking military commanders.
“This is only the beginning,” he said, adding that dismantling Iran's nuclear infrastructure remains Israel’s central military objective.
He made it unequivocally clear that Israel would not seek permission from any foreign power for actions it deems necessary.
“We are going to destroy Iran’s nuclear sites—and we don’t need approval from anyone.”
Netanyahu revealed that he is in regular contact with U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking to him almost daily. He praised Trump for his unwavering support of Israel’s right to self-defense and contrasted that with the more restrained approach of former President Joe Biden, whom he subtly accused of trying to limit Israeli military actions against Iranian proxy groups.
When asked about Israel’s stance on regime change in Iran, Netanyahu took a measured and diplomatic tone, stating that such decisions must come from within Iran itself.
“Whether it's regime change or the fall of the current administration—that is for the Iranian people to decide. We are not seeking to interfere,” he clarified.
Netanyahu's statements clearly signal that Israel is prepared to act alone if necessary, adopting a unilateral and proactive approach to protect its national security. Regardless of America's role moving forward, Israel has resolved that Iran’s nuclear ambitions will not be allowed to succeed—no matter the cost.
As tensions continue to rise, the world watches closely. The next chapter in the Israel-Iran conflict could reshape the balance of power in the Middle East—and possibly beyond.
