Tel Aviv: Amidst the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site of an Iranian missile attack in the city of Arad on Sunday and appealed to global leaders to join Israel and the United States in their military efforts against Iran. He cited this incident as proof of a growing global threat. Speaking to journalists in Arad, Netanyahu stated that the events of the past 48 hours clearly demonstrate that Iran poses a grave threat not only to Israel but to the entire international community.

What did Benjamin Netanyahu say?

Netanyahu alleged that Iran targeted civilian areas in Jerusalem as well as major holy sites of the three monotheistic religions—including the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Netanyahu remarked, "If you seek proof that Iran is a threat to the entire world, the last 48 hours have provided it. Iran targeted a civilian area, utilizing it as if it were a weapon of mass destruction. Fortunately, there were no fatalities; however, this was merely a matter of chance, not a reflection of their intent. Their intention was to kill civilians." He further added that Iran launched attacks in Jerusalem right next to the holy sites of the three major religions. "Miraculously, no one was injured, but they were targeting the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque." Referring to Iran's long-range missile capabilities, Netanyahu noted that the regime is also exploiting maritime and energy routes for the purpose of blackmail.

What did Benjamin Netanyahu say about Iran?

The Israeli Prime Minister asserted, "They are targeting everyone. They are attempting to disrupt international shipping lanes and energy corridors, thereby holding the entire world hostage. It has now become imperative to stop this regime. Israel and the United States are working together in the interest of the entire world. The time has now come for the leaders of other nations to join this effort as well. I am pleased that some countries have already begun to take action, yet further efforts are still required." During this time, Netanyahu welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump's call for international action against Iran, stating that such action is essential not only for the security of Israel and the United States but also for global security. He emphasized that President Trump's call serves the security interests of the entire world. The time for action is now.

Earlier on Saturday, Iran launched ballistic missile attacks on the southern Israeli cities of Arad and Dimona, injuring more than 100 people, including children. According to Israeli health officials, approximately 100 people were injured in Arad and dozens in Dimona, while residential areas sustained heavy damage. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have held Iran responsible for these attacks. This assault is believed to be in retaliation for a strike carried out by the U.S. and Israel against Iran's Natanz nuclear site.
