7 Dead, 25 Injured in Canada School Shooting, Suspect Found Dead at Scene

Canada: That small, very peaceful town of Tumbler Ridge in Canada... where only the rustling of the wind and the laughter of children can be heard most of the day, suddenly became hell on Wednesday. A normal day was going on in the school; children were sitting in the class, teachers were teaching... and then the sound of bullets rang out. Within a few moments there were screams and crying sounds, and people started running here and there to save their lives. 

According to local news and police, a total of 10 people were killed in the shooting (including the shooter), and about 25–27 people were injured. The condition of some is very serious. The entire city is now immersed in silence, there is only sadness and fear everywhere.

When and where did all this happen?

This accident happened on 10 February 2026, at around 1:20 pm (local time). Inside Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. The children were in class, everything was normal when suddenly there was chaos. Some children hid under the desks, some sat in the locked classroom, while some came out and ran.

How soon did the police arrive?

As soon as the alert came, the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) team immediately arrived. The school was surrounded and a search operation was conducted in the surrounding area. Ambulance and emergency teams were also immediately on the spot. It was described as an "active shooter" situation. By around 5:45 pm, police confirmed that there was no further threat.

How big was the loss?

Six people were killed inside the school, one died on the way to the hospital, and two people were found in a house where the shooting also took place. Total of 10 deaths. The condition of two of the injured is very critical, most of the rest are recovering. These figures have come from the police and the hospital, but the investigation is still going on.

Who was the shooter? Was he caught or not?

Police said the suspected shooter was found dead inside the school. Looks like he shot himself. It is not yet certain whether anyone else was involved or not. What was the motive? This will also be known in the investigation. The police only said that the shooter has been identified, but are not releasing the name due to privacy.

What were the people told?

An emergency alert came on the mobile – “Stay indoors, keep doors and windows closed, do not go out.” The police clearly said that people should not leave the house until they declare themselves safe. The alert was lifted in the evening.

What is the reaction of the local people and administration?

The people of the city are shocked. Such a small town, where everyone knows each other. Local leaders and school authorities say they are standing with the affected families every step of the way. Schools will remain closed this week. Extra police have been called from nearby areas. Everyone is just praying that the truth comes out soon and this never happens again.
