International News: On Friday, a strong earthquake occurred in the southern parts of Chile and Argentina in South America, causing panic throughout the region. According to the American Geological Survey (USGS), the intensity of the earthquake was measured 7.4 and its center was in the sea, 219 km from Ushuaiya city of Argentina, in Drake Passage.

After the earthquake, there was a continuous shock and a warning was issued in the coastal areas in view of the possibility of tsunami.

Areas vacated in coastal areas

The administration of Chile and Argentina came into action soon after the earthquake. Chilean President Gabriel Borik ordered the entire beach to the Magallanes region to vacate. Through social media, he told citizens:

"You all appeal to be vigilant and follow the instructions of the administration."

Less depth, more effect

The depth of this earthquake was only 10 kilometers, which felt very close to the surface of the ground and also had more effects. The local administration asked the people of the coastal areas to go towards the high areas. In many places markets, roads and houses became empty, and an atmosphere of fear spread among the people.

1100 people were taken to safe places

The most impact was seen in Chile's Porto Williams. From here, more than 1,100 people have been rescued and evacuated to safe places. Disaster relief teams and local agencies are working with full promptness.

Still danger situation, fears of afterchox

Scientists have warned that the field may still arrive in the field and the unusual activity of waves is being seen in the sea. The administration is constantly monitoring the situation and citizens have been asked to follow the advice of the officials and stay away from the coastal areas.
