China has released a travel alert to its people in India and Pakistan, warning them to exercise caution since the two nations have increased tensions. The Chinese Embassies in India and Pakistan released press statements on WeChat, where they advised individuals to monitor the situation and enhance protection measures if already in these two countries.
Several countries, such as the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, and Singapore, have issued travel warnings for India and Pakistan. The US State Department has issued a "Do Not Travel" advisory for areas near the India-Pakistan border and the Line of Control due to terrorism and dangers of armed conflict. The US warning also recommends reconsidering visiting Pakistan as a destination in general.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated as Pakistan fired missiles at India following India's Operation Sindoor by the Indian Army to target terror camps in Pakistan. India responded by shooting down Pakistan's missiles, fighter aircraft, and drones. The operation was meant to root out terror cells in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) following a fatal terror attack last month in Pahalgam.
