International News: Japan's new aerial power has increased China's anxiety. In fact, Japan's Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) has deployed new F-35B stealth fighter jets at Nyutabaru Airbase in Miyazaki province. China has said that this will have a negative impact on regional peace and stability. The F-35B is a multirole fighter jet equipped with stealth technology that can dodge any radar.
Japan's Defense Ministry had planned to deploy the F-35B at Nyutabaru Air Base in 2024; however, the delivery was delayed by the US. According to the JASDF, Japan will acquire a total of 42 F-35Bs. Of these, eight fighter jets will be deployed at this airbase. Of the first batch of four aircraft deployed on Thursday, three flew to the Guam base under the control of American pilots.
China has called the deployment of F-35B fighter jets in Japan a threat to peace. The Global Times has quoted a military affairs expert as saying that the deployment of these fighter jets is a sign of Japan's strategy shift from defensive to offensive. This will enable Japan to carry out offensive operations in the vast Pacific region and beyond. This will have a negative impact on regional peace. Chinese military affairs expert Zhang Junshe said that Japan is doing all this in the name of the so-called threat from China.
The F-35B is a multirole fighter jet manufactured in America, which is considered very special. It is a jet with a quick process, which is capable of working even in complex war environments. Its most special feature is that it can take off from a very short runway and land vertically. In such a situation, if Japan is ever attacked and the runways are destroyed, it can still retaliate through these fighter jets. It is also a stealth fighter jet; till now Japan did not have any such aircraft.
Quoting a Chinese military expert, Global Times has written that America's sale of these fighter jets to Japan is like deliberately letting a tiger out of a cage. The report says that America is deliberately strengthening Japan's offensive military capabilities so that it can closely cooperate with American forces in the Indo-Pacific region. Apart from this, Japanese media has claimed that China is strengthening aircraft carrier capabilities around Japan.
There will be training programs in Japan to ensure that the US-made jets can land vertically, which the people of Japan are protesting against. Actually, people are angry about the noise caused by the vertical landing of this fighter jet. When the fighter jets reached Japan on Friday, one of them made a vertical landing. It first hovered in the air and then slowly descended, which made a loud noise for about two minutes.
According to a Kyodo News report, about 50 protesters took out a rally at an intersection near the base and waved banners protesting the deployment of the F-35B. According to a Japanese media report, this jet takes two minutes to land vertically, during which its sound becomes five times more than normal, reaching 130 decibels, while the standard is 90 decibels.
