Washington: According to the report of American media outlet CBS News, the Trump administration is again preparing for a military strike against Iran. This news has come at a time when talks are going on through mediators to reduce tension between the two countries. However, till Friday evening, America had not taken any final decision on the attack.

Why did Trump cancel weekend plans?

President Donald Trump suddenly canceled weekend plans to play golf in New Jersey and returned to the White House. After this speculations intensified that something big was going to happen. CBS reported that many officers of the army and intelligence department have also canceled the holidays for Memorial Day weekend.

What is the US military doing?

Defense and intelligence officials have started updating the 'recall roster' for American bases deployed abroad. American troops are gradually being removed from the Middle East. The objective is clear: if Iran retaliates, the loss of American troops should be minimal.

What did the White House say?

White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly bluntly said that Trump's red line is clear, "Iran can never possess nuclear weapons nor can it possess enriched uranium." He also said that the president always keeps all options open and the Pentagon is ready for any order. Kelly warned that there would be consequences if Iran failed to make a deal.

What threat has Iran made?

On Wednesday, Iran's IRGC i.e. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened that if America or Israel attacked, the war would go out of the Middle East. IRGC said that they will attack in such a place that no one can even imagine.

What is the status of the deal?

After a fierce 40-day war, America, Israel and Iran reached an agreement in April. Now America has sent the ‘final proposal’ to Iran. The proposal sent on Wednesday states that if Iran rejects it, military action will resume. Tehran is currently reviewing this proposal.

What could happen next?

At present the rhetoric from both sides is intense. America is reducing troops, officers are canceling leave and Trump has returned to the White House. Iran is also threatening. If talks fail, conflict may increase again in the Middle East.
