Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again raised the issue of 2020 presidential elections. Trump posted on Truth Social on Wednesday that he had won the 2020 election against Joe Biden. He claimed that more than 24,000 non-US citizens voted illegally in that election.

Trump said that the US Census Bureau is examining the 2020 voter records by combining them with citizenship records. According to him, in the initial investigation of 12.8 crore voter records, information about voting of more than 24 thousand non-citizens has come to light.

Did Trump again make a big claim regarding the 2020 elections?

Trump said in his post that wrong was done to him in the 2020 election and he won that election. With this claim, he has once again raised questions on the American election system.

What did Trump say about the votes of 24 thousand non-citizens?

According to Trump, the Census Bureau has so far verified the records of 128 million voters along with citizenship data. He claimed that in this initial investigation, more than 24 thousand such people were found, whom he described as non-citizens.

Trump said that a large number of voter records still remain to be verified. He claimed that this figure may increase further after examining the next 3.2 crore records.

It is important to note that the figure of illegal voting of 24 thousand non-citizens is currently Trump's claim. This is not seen as an established fact of widespread election fraud in the 2020 election.

Why did Trump demand passing the SAVE America Act?

In his post, Trump also reiterated the demand to pass the SAVE America Act. Through this law, it is proposed to make the requirements for documents related to citizenship and identity more stringent during voter registration in American elections.

Trump has long sought to strengthen the rules related to citizenship and photo identification to vote in US elections.

Why is Trump mentioning India's election system?

Trump also mentioned India's election system in another Truth Social post. Citing his conversation with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, he said that photo identity cards are used for voters in India.

Giving the example of India's last Lok Sabha election, Trump said that crores of people voted and very few people voted through post. He presented India's election system as an example to support his demand for voter identification in America.

Is mass voting by non-citizens confirmed in 2020?

Caution is still necessary regarding this claim of Trump. The figure of illegal voting of more than 24 thousand non-citizens has been given by Trump. Official results of the 2020 presidential election showed Joe Biden as the winner and claims of widespread election fraud were not confirmed.

Meanwhile, Trump has once again intensified his demand to tighten election rules and make citizenship verification mandatory.
