Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again given a strong message to Iran and given the last chance for an agreement through new talks. Trump said that if the talks are not successful, America can further intensify its military campaign. He indicated that talks between the two countries could begin in the coming day or two, in which first the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and then Iran's nuclear programme would be discussed.
Trump said this is the last opportunity for a diplomatic solution for Iran. According to him, if no agreement is reached then the situation may become more serious and America will take stricter measures.
According to Trump, talks can take place in two phases. In the first phase, reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will be discussed, while in the second phase, Iran's nuclear programme and US concerns related to it will be discussed.
Trump claimed that America was preparing for a major military operation against Iran. However, this action was stopped for the time being after the appeal of the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and some Iranian officials.
Iran said that talks with America are limited only to the safe movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump expressed his displeasure at this and said that the real discussion focused only on stopping Iran's nuclear weapons programme.
Trump said he wants to give diplomacy another chance before war. He appealed to Iran to show wisdom, saying this was "the last chance to sign a good deal". If this does not happen then America will not shy away from taking strict steps.
