International News: US President Donald Trump has once again implemented his controversial travel ban policy. Under this new order issued on Wednesday, citizens of 12 countries have been barred from entering the US. Trump described this step as necessary for national security and said that its purpose is to stop terrorism and illegal immigration.

The scope of this order includes citizens of Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Apart from this, strict restrictions have also been imposed on people from countries like Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela, especially those who are abroad without a valid visa.

There will be a fight in the court again

This ban has been implemented without any expiry date, making it indefinite. Trump's similar policy has also been the subject of controversies in US courts before. In 2017, when he banned the entry of citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries, it was challenged in several courts. Ultimately, the Supreme Court recognized the revised order.

Muslim countries were banned earlier too

During Trump's first term, travel bans were imposed on Muslim-majority countries like Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen, which were called the 'Muslim Ban'. At that time, thousands of passengers were prevented from entering the US, and many were detained at the airport, which led to a lot of criticism internationally.

Religious discrimination or security?

The Trump administration says that this policy is not against any particular religion but has been implemented for security reasons. However, critics call it an anti-Muslim policy because most of the banned countries are Muslim-majority. Trump had also talked about banning the entry of Muslims during his election campaign, which made this question even more sharp.

Concern increased in migrant communities

This new order has caused a lot of confusion and anxiety in the African and Middle Eastern migrant communities settled in America. Families are worried about the closure of the way to meet their relatives. Many human rights organizations are preparing to challenge it in the court, calling it against human rights.
Crisis on America's global image

Experts believe that this move will hurt America's multicultural heritage and democratic values. This policy can harm the country's credibility and leadership image. Now all eyes are on the court's decision, which will decide the future of this controversial policy.
