Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again given a strong statement regarding Iran. He said that if Iran tries to assassinate him or launches any kind of attack, the US will take pre-planned military action. Trump claimed that 1,000 missiles have been kept ready for this situation and their target will be Iran.

Trump wrote on the social media platform 'Truth Social' that he has already given necessary instructions to the US Army. According to him, in case of any attack, retaliatory action will be initiated immediately.

What did Trump say?

Trump said in his statement that after the initial attack, thousands of additional missiles would be fired if needed. He claimed that the US Army is fully prepared and if such a situation arises, huge damage will be caused to many areas of Iran.

He also said that this order will remain effective for one year and its duration can be extended if needed.

Has there been a new threat from Iran?

Trump clarified that at present he does not have any new intelligence that would suggest that Iran is going to attack soon. However, he says that Iran has considered him as its main target for a long time.

He also rejected the reports which claimed that Israel had received information about some new conspiracy against them from Iran.

Why did tension increase between the two countries?

Tension between America and Iran has been going on for many years. Relations between the two countries deteriorated further after the death of Iran's top military commander Qasim Sulemani in a US drone attack in 2020. After this, Iran has talked about revenge several times, while America has also claimed from time to time alleged conspiracies to target Trump. However, Iran has been denying these allegations.

Did the statement also give on nuclear talks?

Trump also claimed that Iran has expressed willingness to resume talks with the US. However, he said that America has made it clear that the ceasefire period is over. Trump reiterated that America will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons at any cost.

This statement has come at a time when there is international concern regarding security and regional tension in the Middle East.
