Washington: US President Donald Trump warned Iran while talking to the media in the Oval Office in plain words. Trump claimed that America now has complete control over the world's most important sea route, the Strait of Hormuz. They will keep it open at any cost.
Trump said with great arrogance, "Because of our blockade, we have 100 percent control over Hormuz. It is like an iron wall, no one can break it." He also added that there will be no toll on this route. This entire area is international and should be open to everyone. In fact, Iran had been threatening for a long time that it would extort money from ships passing through Hormuz. This statement of Trump was his answer. He wanted to tell the world that America and not Iran will rule here.
Trump did not stop here. He also attacked Iran's nuclear program. Clearly said that Iran cannot keep more enriched uranium with itself. "We will get that uranium at any cost. Even if we have to destroy it", Trump said. He also said that America does not need that uranium. But they will never give Iran a chance to make nuclear weapons. Trump's message was clear that if Iran did not desist, the consequences would be bad.
Amidst this tension, another thing happened. US frees 20 Iranian sailors. Their ship was earlier taken into custody by America. Now to cool down the matter, everyone was sent to Tehran via Islamabad.
Look, the Strait of Hormuz is no ordinary route. One third of the world's oil passes through here. Iran considers it its property. He often threatens that if there is a war, he will close this route. America does not accept this. Trump is openly saying that the supply of oil should not be stopped. Both the countries are face-to-face in this tussle. Many sanctions are already imposed on Iran. Now Trump has shown more strictness. Now everyone's eyes are on Iran. How does he respond to Trump's threat?
