Washington: Experts monitoring US-Israel relations believe that Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had tried to persuade the last five or six US presidents to attack Iran, but he finally succeeded with Trump. Consequently, it can be said that Trump proved to be the best US president for Netanyahu. However, recent revelations suggest that even Trump has grown frustrated with Netanyahu. This was disclosed in a recent book about Trump, which recounts a phone call where he told Netanyahu, "Even all the Jews are fed up with you."

This detail appears in the book *Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump*, authored by *New York Times* journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, which covers events from the first year of Donald Trump's second term. According to the book, when US President Donald Trump—who was attempting to broker a ceasefire in Gaza—learned that Israel had launched an attack targeting Hamas leaders in Qatar, he scolded Netanyahu during a phone call.

What did Donald Trump tell?

According to the book, Trump said during the call, "Everyone is fed up with you, Bibi. All the Jews are fed up with you. Even the two Jews on this call are fed up with you." Trump was referring to American officials Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who were present on the call. This conversation took place while President Trump was trying to implement a ceasefire in Gaza, but Israel had fired a missile at Qatar to target Hamas leaders. The attack resulted in the deaths of some Hamas members as well as a Qatari security guard. Subsequently, Qatar informed the US directly, leading to a conversation between Trump and Netanyahu.

Notably, Trump later invited Netanyahu to the White House and, while the Qatari ruler was on the line, made Netanyahu apologize to him.

Why did DonaldTrump call Netanyahu a "fraud" in the book?

In the book authored by *New York Times* journalists, Trump is depicted describing the Israeli Prime Minister as a fraud. It is worth noting that the relationship between Netanyahu and the US has been turbulent for much of the time since Donald Trump assumed the presidency. At Netanyahu's urging, the US had prepared to attack Iran; however, while Israel wanted the conflict to continue, the US ended it and withdrew.

The book has surfaced at a time when Trump—who was recently attempting to broker a ceasefire with Iran—reportedly called Netanyahu "crazy" for attacking Lebanon. Trump allegedly snapped at Netanyahu over the phone, saying, "You are completely crazy. If it weren't for me, you'd be in jail. I'm saving you. Everyone hates you now. Because of this, everyone hates Israel now." After this report emerged, Trump admitted to speaking to Netanyahu in this manner, though he later added that Netanyahu was a good friend of his.

It should be noted that this entire matter is linked to the conflicts involving Iran and Gaza. Israel has long maintained that Iran is developing nuclear weapons, which pose a direct threat to Israel's security. According to reports, Israel had convinced Trump that a joint attack on Iran would cause the regime to collapse within days, leading to a popular takeover of power. However, Iran continued to fight back, effectively thwarting their plans. The Israeli Prime Minister has been waging war for the past three years. It is said that he wants to keep the war going to remain in power, because if the conflict ends, elections will be held and he would face defeat. Moreover, there are corruption allegations against him. Trump's situation, on the other hand, is different.
