This decision has been taken in the light of a probable Indian attack. The Kashmir administration indicates that this blackout has been undertaken to prevent a huge attack at night.

Where is Neelam Valley?

Neelam Valley lies just 3 kilometers from the Line of Control (LoC), which splits the Kashmir Valley under dispute between India and Pakistan. Neelam Valley is situated in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and it is a place for tourism. All individuals of the world travel to visit Neelam Valley. There live almost 2 lakh individuals from the origin of Kashmir. Neelam Valley is claimed by India but for POK, it went into the possession of Pakistan.

Silence because of absence of tourists

There is silence in Neelam Valley after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Pakistani media report that people do not dare go there. People are afraid India will attack first here. This is the reason that even during the hottest time, there is no migration of people in Neelam Valley. Local residents of Neelam Valley have also shifted to the bunker. There is calm in the entire region.

The blackout decision

In light of the threat to Neelam Valley, some days ago the Kashmir administration had cancelled the leave of all the officers. The administration announced that the time is not appropriate now, so all should remain at their work. After cancelling the leave, the administration has now decided to declare a blackout.

The administration maintains that in the event of a power failure much information would not be available, which would assist in safeguarding Neelam Valley from the potential threat of being attacked by India.
