UN Report Reveals 28 Children Die Daily in Gaza Amid Hunger and Thirst

International News: UN Report on Gaza: The situation in Gaza has gone from bad to worse. 7 October 2023 After the war between Israel and Hamas, the lives of people in Gaza have become hell. The United Nations report has revealed that starvation, disease, displacement, and violence have brought Gaza to the brink of a humanitarian disaster. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICIF) wrote a post on X and said that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has deepened so much that 28 children are dying of hunger and thirst every day.

People are losing their lives in bombings and due to lack of treatment and medicines. Since 7 October 2023, when Hamas attacked southern Israel, more than 18000 children have been killed in Gaza. One child is dying every hour. 60,933 Palestinians have died. Israel has also closed the border for the people of Gaza since 2 March. In such a situation, people are wandering due to hunger and thirst. Apart from food and water, there is also a shortage of medicines in Gaza.

5 lakh people are victims of starvation in Gaza

Let us tell you that there is a danger of famine spreading in Gaza. The population of Gaza is around 23 lakhs, which is facing a crisis of food and water these days. According to the reports of the World Food Program (WFP) and the United Nations, more than 5 lakh people have reached the brink of starvation. Children, pregnant women, and the elderly are becoming victims of malnutrition. Israel has blocked Gaza's food supply.

Ceasefire Ends, Gaza Blockade Worsens

There was a temporary ceasefire of 2 months in January 2025. After that, there was a blockade in March, and the situation in Gaza worsened further due to military attacks. Only 50 to 140 trucks are reaching Gaza with relief material, whereas the need is for 300 trucks. There is also a lack of water and sanitation in Gaza now. People are forced to drink polluted water, due to which diseases like diarrhea, jaundice, and polio are spreading.

Health care crisis deepens in Gaza

Health services in Gaza have collapsed. Hospitals have been destroyed in the Israeli attack. There were 36 hospitals in Gaza, out of which 19 have been closed, and some of them have been destroyed. The remaining hospitals are also on the verge of closure. Lack of medicines has further disrupted health services. There is a shortage of medical officers, doctors, and nurses in Gaza. 986 health workers have been killed in military attacks.

Gaza’s Homes And Schools Destroyed

The Red Cross field hospital is open in Rafah city, but it is on the verge of closing due to lack of medicines and essential items. 90% of Gaza's population, i.e., about 1.9 million people, have become homeless. They are forced to live in tents, cars, or under the open sky. 70% of houses, 80% of businesses, 65% of roads, and 95% of schools have been destroyed. 625000 children have missed school. 10,301 students and 416 teachers have been killed in the military attack.

January Ceasefire Broken In March

Let us tell you that there was a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in January 2025, which broke down in March 2025. The United Nations, the Red Cross, and other international organizations are appealing for an immediate ceasefire. Amnesty International has accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. US President Trump says that Gaza is not a place to live. Therefore, it would be better if we left Gaza on our own. The UK, France, and Canada plan to recognize Palestine by September 2025. The International Criminal Court (ICC) is investigating the war between Israel and Hamas.
