International News: The Prime Minister of Israel has presented a new plan to eliminate Hamas. Last week, Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that he would capture the whole of Gaza. This proposal has also been approved by the Israeli cabinet. But Israel's intentions are being condemned all over the world, and it is being said that this plan of Netanyahu can further deepen the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
75 percent of Gaza has already been captured by the Israeli army. Now the displaced Palestinians are living in a dense population in what is left, and Israel believes that this is where Hamas's last fort, Al-Mawasi, is located. In a phone call with Donald Trump, Netanyahu has talked about capturing this fort of Hamas.
Al-Mawasi is a 10-mile (16 km) long strip of sandy fields that stretches along the Mediterranean coast. This area is a little away from Rafah; there are sand dunes here. It is believed that Hamas fighters are hiding in bunkers under it. Al-Mawasi is a densely populated area, where Israel was not able to attack easily. Some people are saying that Hamas fighters consider themselves most safe here. However, Israel has been carrying out its air strikes here too.
Amid evacuation orders for other areas, Palestinians have been asked to relocate to al-Mawasi several times, resulting in the establishment of a large camp of temporary shelters here.
There is opposition within Israel as well against Israel's plan to occupy the entire Gaza. On Saturday, about 10,000 people gathered in Tel Aviv, Israel, and demanded hostage release and a ceasefire. Those opposing the plan believe that such a plan can endanger the lives of hostages in Gaza, and many soldiers can also die in it.
