India And China To Resume Direct Flights After Five Years, Boosting Travel, Trade And Bilateral Relations

India and China will resume direct flight services from the end of October, five years after they were halted due to COVID-19 and the border dispute. The move will benefit citizens and trade relations between the two countries.

International News:  Direct flight services between India and China are being restored after a five-year hiatus, the government announced on Thursday. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two countries have agreed to resume direct flight services connecting major destinations in India and China from the end of October. This initiative marks the resumption of direct flights for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Flight services between the two countries were suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic. Subsequent clashes in the Galwan Valley prevented them from resuming for a long time. Now, five years later, the civil aviation authorities of both countries have held technical

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the civil aviation authorities of both countries have been in the process of resuming direct flights since the beginning of this year. The operation of these flights by the end of October will significantly benefit travelers and the business sector. Previously, during Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to India last month, it was also announced that direct flight services between the two countries would be resumed. This move is seen as a significant step towards stabilizing relations between the two countries.

India and China took many decisions 

Over the past year, India and China have taken several important decisions, including the disengagement of troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Depsang and Demchok by the end of 2024. Furthermore, both countries have held high-level diplomatic and military meetings to de-escalate border tensions and take steps to improve bilateral relations.

The resumption of direct flights will not only improve passenger convenience but also provide new impetus to trade and economic relations between the two countries. According to experts, this step will prove crucial in strengthening mutual trust and cooperation between India and China.
